Summer Madness Booking - Closes for Encounter on Sunday 20th April.
Booking forms have been available online in the 'What's On' blog for the past number of weeks!

THIS FRIDAY:
This Friday night we will be continuing the HopeRevolution Series, with a guest speaker from the Simon Community speaking to us about working with the homeless in Belfast.

Also remember that this Friday is the last chance to contribute to the gift box to the women in the Simon Community home! So bring along new deodorants, CDs, DVDs, chocolates etc to show them the love of God!

Easter Programme

There is no Friday Night Project this Friday due to it being Good Friday - and so there is a main Church Communion Service at 8pm that night instead - which you are more than welcome to attend.

It may feel like we are only back after the new year, and are just coming up on Easter, but the summer is drawing in soon too! So we are putting our summer plans into place, and I'm sure you will all want to be a part of what's going on.

The Encounter Mailing List is now in operation and the first email has been sent out to those who signed up and confirmed their addresses - so please check your inbox and junk mail box and be sure to add the Encounter address to your 'Safe List' so you will receive the emails that are yet to come!

Those of you who have not signed up, or did not confirm your address, your details have now been cleared from the system as it automatically clears unconfirmed addresses after 7 days, so please re-register by clicking the mailing list link at the bottom of this page.

Finally - the Encounter programme is not running this weekend (1st-3rd Feb 08) due to the Leaders Training and Vision weekend. Leaders can find more information about it by visiting the What's On at SBYouth blog and clicking 'Leaders Retreat 08 Info' on the left hand side!

2008 is here at last, after a busy Christmas season at Encounter. Many thanks to all of you who helped out, were involved or just showed up at some of the things that happened over the 'holidays.' This new year sees the start of a lot of exciting new stuff going on at Encounter, especially with our involvement in Hope2008, so it's going to be an exciting year!

The Friday Night Project and the rest of the Encounter programme begins back this Friday (11th Jan 08), so we hope to see you there!

Yes, festive tidings to all you Encounterers. Christmas is nearly upon us, and so you may think we are winding down for a holiday break... Well, yes and no. Whilst the Friday Night Project and Cells will take a short break for a few weeks there are actually going to be loads of things happening in their place - like carol singing, outreach and events on Christmas eve and New Years eve. That's right, we need your ideas for how we can impact our community and make the love of God real to as many people as possible, helping to bring hope into dark and difficult situations. We are called to help those in need and to 'bind up the brokenhearted' so let's get thinking and sharing our ideas together and see what exciting thing God can do through us! No idea is too small, insignificant or stupid to share. Even if you think it sounds silly put it down, as it might be just the thing that even gets others thinking and spurs on creativity and ideas in them! Also feel free to post your ideas anonymously if you don't want others to know who they came from!

STORIES : The New Series from the Encounter Podcast

That's right this is an exciting new development in the life of Encounter and the Encounter website, as we are now giving you the opportunity to be a part of the Encounter Podcast and to be downloadable from the iTunes UK Store! The idea behind the 'Stories' concept is that we provide you with a platform to share your story - of what God has done in your life, what He is doing, and what He is yet to do! It's an exciting new project, and we hope that as you download these podcasts you will be encouraged through the impacting power that Stories can have. May God use it to build you up and spur you on to greater things in His name.

The first Episode will hopefully go live on Sunday 4th Nov 2007 , so stay tuned!

Encounter Friday Night Project RETURNS

Making Our Money Count

We took our first collection of the year on Friday 12th October in aid of the Hope Foundation, as part of our 'Making Our Money Count' initiative - where you guys gave up something or cut down on something for two weeks in an effort to raise money for a good cause. At present the total collected on Friday is £220 - so well done on that! We will keep you updated as any more money comes in, as we are aware that a few people didn't get a chance to give yet and may want to!

We will be putting up a selection of talks, and the occasional Special Edition Podcast, so do feel free to subscribe to it, or just download individual Podcasts that appeal to you and then leave comments and feedback on the iTunes store if you wish!

In other news: over the next two weeks we are running something called 'Making Our Money Count', which we are hoping will make a difference to the lives of many people in need in other parts of the world. For a full write-up and description of this campaign check out the main blog.

Welcome to the new look Encounter website.

It's a new year for Encounter and so we thought we'd give our website fresh new look, as well as a slight reshuffle of some of our content. You should be able to find pretty much all the same stuff that was on here before with relative ease, and now we also hope to keep you up-to-date more often with our new look News section, our updated 'Last Week at Encounter' blog and our Free Podcasts which are in the pipeline.

In our 'Last Week at Encounter' blog we hope to provide you with free notes on all of the talks at Encounter, and the ability to discuss and learn from each other on those topics - so make sure to check out that section throughout the week.

Also in our general Encounter Life blog there will be thoughts and discussion on general topics as well as random inspirational posts for you to check out in your spare time.

Finally we'd like to welcome everyone to the Encounter Friday Night Project which has just started back on the 14th of September - it was great to see so many of you guys out, and a special welcome to all our new first years (year 8's) - Its great to have you on board and we hope you settle in quickly and have a great time with us on Friday nights. We believe that this is going to be a really exciting year and we look forward to seeing what God is going to do!
